lithofacies, tectonic setting and provenance interpretation of miocene siliciclastic sediments; by petrography and geochemical data in binalood zone north of neyshabur
Authors
abstract
miocene silisiclastic sediments in binalood zone consist of three lithofacies group including gravelly (gmm, gcm, gci, gh, gt, gp), sandy (st, sm, sh, sp, ss, sl) and muddy (fm, fl). gravelly lithofacies are generally massive and mainly consist of volcanic and sedimentary lithic in different size. sandy lithofacies are composed of litharenite and feldespathic volcanicarenite and rock fragments are almost volcanic as well as minor amounts of sedimentary and metamorphic rock fragments. based on red color, absence of marine fossils, present of unimodal planar and trough cross bedding in a fining upward cycles, lithofacies analysis and architectural elements, these sedimentary rocks deposited in braided river and alluvial fan as well as playa. based on geochemistry and petrographic data, parent rocks for these sediments, are probably felsic and intermediate igneous rocks with recycled orogen that originate in active continental margin.

Petrography, Mineralogy and Geochemistry of Kuhkamar Shale in the Roum section (South of Qayen): Application for Provenance and Tectonic setting
The Kuhkamar shale with a thickness of 354 m is composed of siliciclastic rocks (sandstone and shale). Petrography studies of the sandstones in this area show two petrofacies including arkose and sub-arkose. These sandstones composed of sub rounded to moderately sorted; therefore, compositionaly to texturaly, they are immature to submature with mono and polycrystalline quartz and k-feldespar. I...

Abstract The best exposed Early Miocene (820 m. thick. ) shales and interbedded silty sandstones beds of the Pyawbwe Formation at Sakangyi- Thayat area,Magway Region are investigated geochemically by using Siemens SRS- X Ray 303 AS XRF Spectrometer. Major and some trace element concentrations have been determined to achieve their provenance, tectonic setting ,paleoweathering , paleoclimate and ...
full textPetrography, geochemistry and tectonic setting of the Gharabolagh intrusive mass in North Hashtrud, East Azarbaijan
The plutonic body of Bostanabad-Meyaneh belt formed during the Cenozoic magmatism on the weast Alborz-Azarbaijan zone. The Oligocene plutonic rocks consist of alkaligranite, granodiorite and biotitegranite, intruded into the Eocene volcanic-sedimentary rocks. The predominant textures are granular, graphic and perthite. Geochemical evidence reveals that they are cogenetic and have features typic...
full textThe Malayer plutonic complex: field geology, petrography and geochemical interpretation
The geochemical signatures like discordant variation of major and trace elements among felsic-intermediate and basic rocks and mafic enclaves of Malayer region on binary variation plots, decreasing values of FeOt, TiO2, MgO, MnO and CaO accompanied with increasing of SiO2 content from basic to felsic rocks, and decreasing Ni, Cr and Co with increasing SiO2 are considered as indications of mag...
full textcontribution of setting to the study of characters and the main idea in e. brontes: wuthering heights and t. hardys: return of the native.
this thesis aims to adduce an unmitigated and comprehensive explication concerning the relationship of three significant elements of fiction: setting, chracter and theme. my research is basically placed on two outstanding novels of the 19th century: emily brontes wuthering heights and thomas hardys return of the native. my endeavour lies in studying the correlation among the three above-mention...
15 صفحه اولGeochemical And Petrographic Studies Of Lokoja Sandstone: Implications On Source Area Weathering, Provenance, And Tectonic Setting
Ten road cut samples collected from five lithological sections of Lokoja sandstone formation in the Middle Niger basin were investigated using integrated granulometric, petrographic and geochemical analyses. Results of grain size analysis; standard deviation and skewness which ranges from 0.08 to -0.05 and 0.59 to -0.07 respectively suggest very well sorted to moderately well sorted sediments. ...
